Cookie Policy

AXIS CAPITAL MANAGEMENT GROUP – Cookie Policy

Effective date: [November 12, 2025]
Last updated: [November 12, 2025]

1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how Axis Capital Markets Group (“Axis,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our websites and online services (collectively, the “Site”). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

Where required by law (including the EU/UK), we use non-essential cookies only with your consent. In some jurisdictions (e.g., California), certain advertising cookies may constitute a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under CPRA. You may manage your preferences at any time via the Cookie Preferences link in the Site footer and the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link.

2. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Cookies are widely used to make websites work, to enhance user experience, and to provide reporting information to website owners. Cookies may be first-party (set by Axis) or third-party (set by other domains), and may be session (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent (remain until they expire or are deleted).

We also use related technologies such as SDKs, pixels (e.g., Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag), local storage, and tags. We refer to all of these collectively as “cookies.”

3. Why we use cookies (categories)

We use cookies for the following purposes:

  • Strictly Necessary – Required for the Site to function (e.g., security, load balancing, login). These cannot be turned off in our systems.
  • Analytics / Performance – Help us measure Site traffic, usage patterns, and performance so we can improve our services.
  • Functionality – Remember choices (e.g., language) and personalize features.
  • Advertising / Targeting – Deliver and measure ads on our Site and elsewhere; build interest profiles and remarket. In California, these may be considered “sale” or “sharing.”

4. Legal bases (EEA/UK visitors)

If you are in the EEA/UK, we rely on:

  • Consent for all non-essential cookies (Analytics, Functionality, Advertising), and
  • Legitimate interests for strictly necessary cookies (to provide a secure, working Site).
You can withdraw consent at any time via the Cookie Preferences link.

5. Your choices: consent, opt-out, and Global Privacy Control

  • Consent/Withdrawal: Use the on-Site banner and Cookie Preferences modal to accept, reject, or fine-tune categories. Your choices will be honored on future visits (subject to cookie expiration, browser changes, or clearing cookies).
  • California (CPRA): Use the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in the footer to opt-out of the use of Advertising cookies that may be considered “sale” or “sharing.”
  • Global Privacy Control (GPC): Where we detect a browser-level GPC signal, we treat it as an opt-out of Advertising cookies (and limit certain analytics as appropriate), consistent with applicable law.
  • Browser controls: You can set your browser to block or delete cookies. If you block certain cookies, parts of the Site may not function properly.

6. Third-party cookies

Third parties (e.g., analytics providers, ad networks, social media) may set cookies on your device when you visit our Site. These third parties have their own privacy/cookie policies and may change their cookies and purposes from time to time. We maintain a cookie registry (below) for transparency; however, actual cookies present depend on your selections, region, and updates by vendors.

7. International transfers

Where cookies collect personal data that is transferred outside your jurisdiction (e.g., to the United States), we implement appropriate safeguards under applicable law (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses for EEA/UK), or rely on adequacy decisions where available.

8. Retention

Cookie lifetimes vary. Persistent cookies remain until their configured expiry (see the registry below) or until you delete them. We retain aggregated analytics data for as long as necessary for the purposes described, and otherwise in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

9. Updates to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, law, or our practices. The “Last updated” date at the top indicates when the latest version took effect.

This Cookie Policy describes how Axis uses cookies and similar technologies. Depending on your location, we may require your consent for certain cookies. You can change your choices at any time through the Cookie Preferences link at the bottom of our Site.

Implementation note (for your webmaster)

If you’re using our provided banner, ensure that all third-party tags (GA4/GTM, Google Ads, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, etc.) are blocked by default and only executed once the applicable category is consented (e.g., wrap scripts in type="text/plain" with data-cookiecategory="analytics" | "functional" | "advertising"). Include visible footer links to Cookie Preferences and Do Not Sell or Share. If you participate in programmatic advertising, consider IAB TCF 2.2 integration.
